Now and Then

Hey Kids!

Want to have some fun with photos?

OK!

Here we go!!!

THEN...

AND NOW...

Again?

OK!

THEN...

AND NOW...

Isn't this fun?

THEN...

AND NOW...

Here's the last one...

It's my favorite!

THEN...

AND NOW...

Isn't it great to see everyone aging so gracefully?

I was there!

I met up with a couple of friends for lunch at Hollywood & Highland yesterday.

And this was going on right outside...

...and somehow I missed all of it.

Hi...I'm an idiot.

Celebrity Deathmatch : Clay vs. Fergie

If album sales are anything to go by, Clay totally won.

CLICK HERE to see just how badly Clay kicked Fergie's hump-y ass.

Life is Still Not a Fairy Tale...

...for Fantasia Barrino.

A song from Miss 'Tasia's forthcoming album ("Young Girl, Old Soul") has leaked.

And it ain't impressive.

Imagine Destiny's Child, "Soldier."

Now imagine if it was stripped of it's glossy pop sheen...and then imagine that the glossy pop sheen was replaced by a dingy, dirrrty mess...

And so you get...

Who's a Smash?

I was driving down Fountain Avenue the other day and I glanced over and saw this...

I pulled over to take a closer look...

...and it became clear that my eyes were not deceiving me.

Idol 4 defectee Mario Vazquez's album is dropping on September 26th...and his record company is already declaring it a "smash."

Here's the thing...thanks to the wonderful world of the internet...I've taken the time to download the album (and you can too, by clicking here)...and there is nothing "smash-ing" about the album.

It's smooth R&B...but zapped of any flavor. It's the musical equivalent of a Quesadilla...made with soy cheese.

The "hot" hit, "Gallery," is the only even remotely decent track on the album.

I feel badly for lil' Mario. He seems like a nice enough guy...but truth is...he ain't Ne-Yo.

And that's a hard thing to take.

Someone's got sand stuck in his/her Vagina...and it isn't Diane Sawyer...

Remember that awkward "What do you think Diane" moment between Diane Sawyer and Whitney Houston a few years back?

Well, Diane's recent interview with the Aiken...where she asked him if he was gay...takes awkward celebrity interviewing to a whole new level.

I promise...it'll be WORTH it.

You Desecrate My Smile

Remember this chick?

That's right!

Stripper McKibbin is back!

With a new song ("The Lie")!

And a variation on the same trashy rocker chick look she has been "rockin'" for years!

If you're bored (and I know that you are if you are reading this post right now), I highly recommend you checking out Stripper McKibbin's new song that is streaming on her MySpace page.

There are bagpipes. There are guitars. And there is the desecration of someone's smile.

It doesn't get any better than that...right?

Who's The Man?

My friend Aaron is a genius.

I showed him the Aiken's recent performance on "Good Morning America."

And he might have made this very special "separated at birth" joke:

Seriously...who's the man?

The Aiken...OR...Amanda Bynes dressed as a boy in the criminally underrated teen comedy, "She's the Man?"

Wednesday, September 20, 2006

Clay finally answers the question...

Tuesday, September 19, 2006

Are you Serious right now???

I know that germ-phobic Howie Mandel doesn't shake hands and all...but is this really necessary?

claymandel

Who punches fists with Clay Aiken?

Seriously!

Watch the full disastrophe below...

The Other Kimberly

The other Kimberly from the Idol 2 has released a brand new country-twinged single, "Who Will You Run To."

caldwell

You can download it on the iTunes by clicking here.

OR you can save 99 cents and listen to a minute and a half of the song on Kimberly's MySpace page.

boot

The minute and a half song bit isn't hideous...but it isn't exactly memorable either.

It's the kind of song you hear when you are shopping at Walmart. You stop and think "Oh...that's a song." And then you continue to search for the moisturizer aisle...or something.

You're Gonna Love Her

It is with great sadness that I have to inform you all that due to a technical malfunction...all of the pictures and videos I took for my full post on Frenchie's performance appear to have disappeared into the ether...all except for two pictures I took on my dinky camera phone...and two videos that my friend was able to recover before disaster struck.

So here it is...

"My Night With Frenchie"
By judge jru

Friday night. September 15th. I arrive at Popstarz with sister ru and friends.

We wait.

And wait.

We position ourselves near the stage and wait some more.

And then I see her. NOT Frenchie, but another blonde African-American reality TV star...Eva Pigford (the winner of "Cycle 3" of ANTM).

She is beautiful. And she comes with a posse of hot African-American men...most of them appear to be straight.

Finally, at around 12:35-ish...the music stops and out comes Frenchie.

She is singing "Crazy." Not the Britney Spears one. The REALLY good one. She rocks the house. And my pants.

Frenchie continues on by singing "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" and "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)." And she rocks the house (and my pants) even more.

And just when you think things couldn't get any better, Frenchie launches into the classic "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going." I almost cry (but not really).

The one and only Miss Davis wraps her "concert" up with a quick acapella version of "Season of Love" (from RENT).

And then, she is gone.

* * *

I managed to take these bits of video with my friend's digital camera...but the results are unable to express just how stunning this performance was.

Frenchie was mystical.

Frenchie was magical.

Frenchie just WAS.

* * *

UPDATE: My friend (Aaron) is a genius! He figured out where the Frenchie pictures disappeared to!

And so now...without further ado...I give you...

MISS FRENCHIE DAVIS!

AND as an added bonus...here's Eva the Diva enjoying Frenchie...

SEE?

I told you she was REAL.

Best. Concert. Ever.

She was everything I expected her to be.

And more.

And yes. Eva was there too.

* * *

I'm off to Vegas early tomorrow morning...to go see...uh...well...Vicki Lawrence and Mama...in their "two woman" show.

I know...I've officially become "too gay to function."

BUT I will return from my gay-cation on Sunday evening to do a full post (including video) on the magnificence that is Frenchie Davis.

The "Little" Locke Show

My second favorite Idol 2 contestant (Kimberley Locke) is going to appear on a new MTV "talent" show, which begins airing on September 18th!

It's called...

It appears to be very much like that WB "talent" show, "Superstar USA."

Only this time...people have to sing, dance, AND act.

Miss Locke acts as a judge...

...for a few episodes.

Someone also let this guy step in for a few episodes to "judge"...

...and that's a shame for everyone.

Will Young is the NEW Janet Jackson

Hi...wardrobe malfunctions are kinda hot!

If a Velvet Teddy Bear makes a noise...

...does anyone want to hear it?

CLICK HERE to hear the latest from Mister Studdard...including his snooze of a single, "Change Me."

And if you must have Ruben on your computer (although I'm not sure why you would), then click on the link below to download another leaked track off Ruben's upcoming album, "The Return."

Before you go off and waste a few precious moments from your day, I have to tell y'all that the track isn't much of anything.

Frankly, I'd rather listen to Tall Girl.

Tuesday, September 12, 2006

Tall Girl is a "Quitter"

CLICK HERE to check out Ayla Brown's TWO new songs, "I Quit" and "Know You Better."

They aren't bad...for DEMOS....but as real tracks they don't do Ayla's lovely lady warble any favors.

Speaking of being VeryVeryGay

I got a giant gay cramp when I found out about the following event...

Hmmm...I wonder where I will be Friday night...
