What's Wrong With Me?

So I have something to admit to you all...

There might be something wrong with me.

I am currently enjoying not ONE but TWO Will Young songs.

And by like, I mean they are in heavy rotation on my iPod. I've listened to them at least five times each today.

I am enjoying the lisping wonder that won the very first season of Pop Idol.

(For those of you still not in the know, you might remember Mister Young as that British twit that sang about the sweetest feeling and high mountains on the season finale of the Idol 1.)

I know. I know. I used to have massive homo shame for this man.

An outbreak that recurred on more than one occasion!

But now...I've taken the time out of my VERY busy life to listen to Will's latest album, "Keep On." And with the exception of the first single ("Switch It On"), the CD is chock of full of awesomely cheesy pop goodness.

Don't believe me?

Take a listen for yourself....

Try 'em!

Once you get past the lisp and the vibrato, you'll like him too!

When Will duetted with Kelly Clarkson he was incredibly nervous. He had won Pop Idol about four or five months previously. His versions on that show of the two songs you mention were fantastic and it was Jackie Wilson's Sweetest Feeling which clinched it for him.

He sang Ain't No Mountain High Enough with one of our finalists, Hayley Evetts, and that was superb.

I am glad you enjoy his latest songs. The whole album is great.

I never got Will Young and still don't. He's had some good songs the best one being Leave Right Now and for me he could have done just that afterwards because nothing he's done since has rocked my boat.
He comes across as a upperclass, arrogant English twit to me as well.

I just listened to those 2 songs, and they are not bad, but I dont like the voice at all. Sorry.

Will Young can SING! - You know what I mean - actually SING - he doesn't have to MIME like a lot of so-called singers.

Oh, and how rude of the person who called Will an upperclass, arrogant English twit. This makes you an Ignorant, Inverted Snob. You wouldn't know the word "CLASS" if it hit you in the face.

Could not agree more with you, Will is the Best, he is the Best singer in the whole world, you Amricans have no taste.

I certainly wouldn't want to lump the "Ignorant Person" who childishly called Will names with all Americans! I think this is rather an injustice to all the nice ordinary people out there that can give a fair and intelligent review without resorting to this demeening playground clap-trap. No - I think this "Ignorant Person" is just an obvious 'one-off'idiot!

Although I guess this site is intended for American comments, this site has been 'pointed out' in the UK so I thought I would add my thoughts.
Will voice is unique, and I can understand that some will like him and some won't - music is a very personal thing. But Will Young is very very popular in the UK, fills his venues and charts well.

It was the remark calling him an upperclass arrogant English twit I wanted to respond to. Yes, Will is 'posh' coming from a public school background, but a twit. No, the boy has a university degree, he is not stupid. Arrogant? You must be joking - over here Will has the reputation of being one of the nicest guys in the music industry. He never 'bad-mouths' anyone and is extremly polite. Arrogant? NEVER.

When America gets to know Will Young personality for themselves they can each judge for themselves. Will is well respected in England because he himself shows the upmost respect for individuals from different walks of life not only the music industry. He never bad mouths anyone. He has just become Britains No.1 singer after being in the business for 4 and half years, surely that speaks for itself? To say his a twit is totally uncalled for especially as he his an highly intelligent man and every respect.

I think most of the smaller radio station dj's would dissagree with you. I heard them say on the radio that Will was rather rude and very up himself.
But he is nice and polite to the bigger stations, that is true.

Heard this rumour before.I suppose a lot depends on how he gets treated. If that is rudely e.g. if the DJ cuts him off mid sentence, then good for him if he makes it known how that makes him feel wether that is a small or big radio station.

Seems like you certainly want everyone who is interested in Will to know about whatever it is you are talking about it. What is your investment in that? No don't tell me as I would rather have first hand info not second or is it third etc. Everyone is entitled
to say how they see Will but to be one who continually attempts to discredit his personality, I repeat what is in it for you???

Will is not perfect I know but then neither are you nor I. A great singer he is and one that is liked immensly in the field of music and I have heard numerous times on the little radio stations and that is fact.

To fully appreciate Will Young it is very worthwhile investing in his 2nd album "Friday's Child" and his 3rd album "Keep On" to hear the warmth, power, intense feeling and beautiful tones in his songs. From the heart-breaking "Home" to "Ain't Such a Bad Place to Be". Every song is unique, and there are no 'fillers'.
