Some People "Heart" Carrie Underwood...

...I don't.

She seems like a very pretty, lovely young lady...but as a singer, I find her about as compelling as the latest episode of "The OC."

Anyways, superblogger just jared has posted the title track from the country cyborg's new CD, "Some Hearts."

The good news?

It's a million times better than Carrie's new disastrophe of a single, "Jesus Take The Wheel."

The bad news?

It still isn't even half as good as the filler tracks on the albums by the troika of Idol superstars (Kelly, Fantasia, Kimberley).

Anyways, enough talk. Here it all of it's mid-tempo, Leann Rimes wannabe glory...

My friend Jeff went to Las Vegas...

...and all I got was this lousy collectors edition Idol 2 Coke Bottle.

Seriously though, Coke is "it."

Everybody hates Simon... least Pat Boone does.

Um...Christian "artists" that release an entire covers album full of songs written by the likes of AC/DC and Ozzy Osbourne are not in the position to criticize anyone.

Belated Miracles...

Apparently, Idol 3 contestant George Huff's VERY FIRST LP, "Miracles," hit the streets and I totally forgot to let you all know of this momentous event.

My only excuse is that the day the album dropped was my little sister's birthday, so I was a little distracted. Even so...I'm very sorry for this lapse in blogging.

I hope y'all find it in your hearts to forgive me. I'm sure Gentle George would TOTALLY forgive me...

If only he knew I existed...

Bo Bice is the NEW Rob Thomas?

Carlos Santana is "dropping" a new album on November 1st.

The high profile guest vocalists list is a veritable who's who of legendary musical greats, including Mary J. Blige, Steven Tyler, and...BO FRICKIN' BICE!

The title of the song Mr. Bice is going to be singing lead vocals on?

"Brown Skin Girl"

Hi...I haven't even heard the song yet and my ears are already bleeding!

From Judi to Will

Look WHO is going to be costarring with DAME JUDI DENCH in cute old british people do crazy things movie #32...

Why it's openly gay Pop Idol 1 winner WILL YOUNG!

Will really goes against type in the movie, because he plays a man who has "other inclinations."

And Judi Dench finds that DELICIOUS!

To check download the full trailer for "Mrs. Henderson Presents," click here.

UPDATE: Mr. Young also has a hot new video out, check it out...

Clay hearts the Garden!

Last night...I was watching the first episode of the first gay black soap opera ("Noah's Arc" - which is absolutely trashtastic), when I received a very exciting text message from my newly engaged friend...named...well, let's just call her 'Sandy.'

Below is a transcription of the full text conversation...

SANDY: "Clay across from me at OLIVE GARDEN."

JUDGE JRU: "Shut Up! Who is he with?"

SANDY: "5 people - Various ethnicities."

JUDGE JRU: "Kimberly Locke???"

SANDY: "Sadly no."

Then, 'Danny' (Sandy's fiancee) started texting me...

DANNY: "He's wearing a mesh t-shirt with nipple clamps."

JUDGE JRU: " wish"

DANNY: "fraid not pal. U DO! - kisses (smooch)"

Finally, today...over the wonderful world of IM, I got the REAL full Aiken sighting details from 'Sandy.'

The sighting occurred at the Olive Garden in Burbank. Clay was with 4 twentysomething kids and "an older female mother/agent type." The Idol 2 runner-up was dressed in a maroon striped long sleeve shirt and a fisherman's hat. Although I could not confirm what the Aiken ordered, 'Sandy' is pretty sure that he was drinking an Italian soda.

Unfortunately, 'Sandy' wasn't able to capture Clay on her camera instead I've decided to end this post with my favorite picture of the Aiken:

Bad CNN!

Ryan Seacrest is the NEW Larry King?

I don't think so!

Thanks Sharon!

QUESTION: Who is responsible for reuniting the Idol 2's very own Ruben Studdard and Kimberly Locke in a musical menagerie of song?

ANSWER: Why SHARON STONE...of course!

The Basic Instinct starlet co-composed and co-produced the benefit single: ''Come Together Now''

For her contribution to Hurricane Katrina victims, Miss Stone assembled a veritable who's who lineup of today's top pop divas...including Ruben Studdard, Kimberly Locke, Celine Dion, Patti LaBelle, Joss Stone, Natalie Cole, Chingy, JoJo, Angie Stone, Aaron Carter, AND Jesse McCartney!

Idol Blog Fever

I just got an email from an Idol 5 semi-finalist informing me of her Idol related blog.

To check it out, click here.

I hope Miranda realizes that if she makes it any farther, she will be asked to take her website down...just like the Verraros had to back in the good ol' days of Idol 1.

Carrie Has Some Hearts...but not mine.

The cover art for Carrie Underwood's new album has finally been unveiled!

Overall, Carrie looks very lovely and sunkissed, but... looks like she has more makeup pancaked onto her face than RuPaul!

Carrie hearts Jesus & Puppies

Thanks to the wonderful world of the internet, I was able to get my hands on the brand new Carrie Underwood single, "Jesus Take the Wheel."

And well...I really don't know what to say about it...Country music and Jesus really aren't my thing. I guess the song is perfectly pleasant in that desperately trying to be Faith Hill kind-of-way.

Check it out:

"Jesus Take The Wheel" - Carrie Underwood

* * *

OK, I've listened to the song for a second time...and's totally boring.

I guess I shouldn't have expected much from the country cyborg...but I was at least hoping for a mildly entertaining country-lite something LeAnn Rimes used to sing.

And what's up with the crap lyrics about Jesus driving Carrie's car?

Hi...that's LAME!

Oh well...maybe I can hope for betting things out of Father Bice?

And if that isn't enough Carrie for you, here is a picture of the Idol 4 winner with some puppies...

I'm a Slave 4 Verraros

Hot on the heals of his appearance on "Real Gay," the Verraros has released a new single off his album, "Rollercoaster."

Billboard magazine has offered up this strikingly positive review...

Openly gay "American Idol" season-one finalist Jim Verraros is aiming current CD "Rollercoaster" at his dancefloor brethren, and so far, so good: Previous single "You Turn It On" reached No. 21 on the Billboard Club Play chart. Follow-up "You're Getting Crazy" treads in similar territory, stirring the beats into a simmering frenzy. The album version conjures memories of Britney Spears' "I'm a Slave 4 U," but two remixes -- served up in radio edit, vocal and dub versions -- offer club-friendly alternatives. With a video showcasing Verraros' pretty-boy looks and slick moves, "Crazy" could hit its mark.

That's my Verraros!!!

Baby V sings for her clothes!

I just got this cute email from judge jru reader, Kristen:

Just to let you in on something. Baby V (Vonzell) stopped by the corporate headquarters of the clothing store White House Black Market in Fort Myers to thank them for donating so much nice clothing to her throughout the show. They outfitted Vonzell for much of American Idol. She then sang a couple of songs to them as thanks! How cool is that? Just letting you know ;)

Thanks for the tip yo!

If anyone else ever has any idol sightings or tips, feel free to send 'em on in!

How Do You Solve a Problem like Diana?

Diana DeNoNo is pulling a Frenchie...she is going to be playing the role of Maria in a new production of "West Side Story" in San Jose.

I'm all for the DeNoNo taking the stage by storm...but seriously dude, couldn't the whitest white girl this side of Carmen Rasmusen have picked a role where she wasn't supposed to be LATINA?

The Swedish Clay Aiken?

Imagine if t.A.T.u. stopped being fake Russian lesbians for a few minutes and had sex with the boys from the A*Teens, their offspring might sound something like Darin (aka: the Swedish Idol 2004 runner-up).

Check out this awesome bit of poptastic trash:

B What U Wanna B - Darin

What's not to LOVe about someone who became famous while they were still in braces???

(Thanks to just jared for leading me to discover this genius of a Swedish pop album)

Teacher's Pet

According to this story, baby mama FANTASIA is the judge's favorite American Idol contestant.

Don't get me wrong I enjoy the Fantasia, but that is some bullsh*t!

Because of Clarkson 3-D

To see that Clarkson video that I'm obsessed here.

Wednesday, October 05, 2005

Joe Pantoliano is the NEW Clarkson?

Somehow...the people responsible for "Celebrity Fit Club" have come up with an idea that is WORSE than Emmy Idol...

A one-time "Soprano," an ex-Power Ranger and a former heavyweight champ will show off their vocal chops in an "American Idol"-style competition on VH1, cable's leading purveyor of celebrity kitsch.

The three men in question -- Joe Pantoliano ("The Sopranos," "The Matrix"), Michael Copon ("Power Rangers Time Force," "One Tree Hill") and former champ Larry Holmes -- will join six others in "But Can They Sing?," which debuts on VH1 Sunday, Oct. 30.

The other competitors are actresses Morgan Fairchild ("Falcon Crest") and Bai Ling ("Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow"), soap star Antonio Sabato Jr. ("The Bold and the Beautiful"), model Kim Alexis, Univision host Myrka Dellanos and "Growing Up Gotti" kid Carmine Gotti.

Because of Clarkson - Part Deux

The new Clarkson video for "Because of You" has been unleashed on the world...and it's just as awesomely dramatic as I had hoped it would be!

Check out these screen caps...

Because of Clarkson

Kelly's new video for "Because of You" has been shot!

MTV has the details...

"It's about the cycle of families, like you act how your parents acted towards you and then your kids act how you acted towards them, and it's all about breaking that cycle if it was a bad one," Clarkson said of both the song and video. "The video's kinda sad ... but it's a sad song, so the video obviously has to follow that. But it ends really happy and everything and the family, my family, ends up breaking the cycle of my parents."

Kelly wrote the video treatment herself and then let director Vadim Perelman (the writer/director behind "House of Sand and Fog"), in his video debut, add his own touches. sounds VERY dramatic!

I hope that Jennifer Connolly makes a cameo in the long as she refrains from yelling about how THOSE people stole her house...

At times like this, words just fail me...

What Would Carrie Do?

The Country Cyborg's new single is rumored to be titled, "Jesus Takes The Wheel," and it's supposed to be released to country radio on October 18, 2005. According to those in the know, Carrie's new single sounds like a Sara Evans song...which means nothing to me since I'm country-ignorant.

THEN...on November 15th, Carrie's first full length album, "Some Hearts," drops.

No word yet on the title of Bo's album or the name of Bo's next single...although according to Amazon, Bo's album is gonna drop on November 29, 2005.
